Upon returning home from Arizona in 1943 Casper purchased property at 580 N. Main to build a new factory and retail store. This building was mostly concrete and was batched on site. Darrell Thorpe was the contractor. When you worked the sand and gravel and cement mixer, Darrell was a real stickler on measurements. He made sure that you had the right amount of sand and gravel. If you got sloppy doing that you were demoted to running the wheelbarrow. It was poured in the forms by hand and then vibrated. The interior walls were lath and plaster. The production area was in the east end of the plant where the milk and cream was processed into mix. The milkman would drop off ten gallon cans as many as we needed for that day. We would empty them and wash them up through a can washer that we had. At this time Casper's made a lot of bulk ice-cream in 5 gallon tin can that was used in the retail store as well as wholesale outlets.  Casco's and sandwiches were also made in addition to the bulk ice-cream.
